Every season this steam-breathing dragon in the Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace needs to be refurbished after the wear and tear or children playing on it. No child wants to see their favourite dragon looking tired and chipped. The whole beast is cleaned and any pieces of anatomy that have broken off are repaired and replaced, before repainting to restore the lustre to the dragon's hide, the gleam to its eyes, the healthy colour to its tongue and the gleaming whiteness to its fangs.
